Breeding livebearers

I have 2 platy's that are pregnant, I know they're pregnant cause they're HUGE and you can actually see the little black spots in their belly's. but the one seems like she's been pregnant ever since I got her (aprox 1 month) how long do they cary the babies for? should I use a hatching tank?

Ive read that guppies will only drop once conditions are right ie. water,temp ect.Maybe this is the case for platys too
